The recent week of evangelism was a success, as Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou continue their outreach to nearby Songhai villages.

Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou were accompanied by John Wallingford and Scott Mills from America. John is co-ordinating efforts by a group of Christians in the US to support the work of the Gorom-Gorom pastors as they reach out to the Songhai villages of Oudalan province in Burkina Faso.

The team visited villages S, K, D, and S2, villages that Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou visit regularly to share Christ and encourage the small cell groups of Songhai believers. The team shared the good news of Christ, and handed out cassettes of the gospel message. John reports: “Every village we entered was open, and there are many who listened very attentively to the presentation of the Gospel. I am convinced that there are many hungry hearts in the villages.” Time will tell about the response of those who responded, but Pascal reported that in D, one young man came after the team’s departure to give his life to Christ and burn his magic charms.

The team also spent time in evangelism in the Songhai sector of Gorom-Gorom itself, where Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou have many contacts. Here you can see Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou among the cows, sharing how Christ sets us free from the slavery and destruction of sin, and brings peace.

Also on the trip was P, a Burkinabe pastor who is hoping to move into one of the villages, and Jonas, another Burkinabe pastor, who was translating for John and Scott. After the end of the trip, P has confirmed that he is ready, and is beginning preparation for his move.
