The Brecon Taff Trail and Cardiff Bay Bike challenge (Full challenge 59 miles or half challenge 31 miles) will be held on Saturday 19th May 2012.

The ride has been organised by Glenwood Church in Cardiff, and all money raised will go towards building the second phase of the Wakkil Alla school in Gorom-Gorom, Burkina Faso.

The distance from Cardiff to Burkina Faso and back to Cardiff is 5400 miles. The distance from Brecon to Cardiff is 59 miles. This means if 100 riders take part it will be the equivalent of riding from Cardiff to Burkina Faso and back. Last year there were 113 riders taking part in the challenge which raised nearly £9000 for three charities in Cardiff. This year we want  even more to take part, as all money raised will go towards the Wakkil Alla School.

If you took part last year please consider doing the challenge again. You may have new challenges like beating your times last year. You may also want to invite friends and family to take part.

For those thinking of taking part for the first time, it is a great challenge. You will not be riding by yourself but with groups of people of the same ability or perhaps friends you may wish to take part with. Either way the important thing is for you to sign up as soon as possible. By signing up it will give you a purpose to start riding your bike once again and committing yourself to the challenge.
