The church is coming to birth in Oudalan, and we have ongoing plans to see the church established in new villages throughout the province. Local Christians and pastors are reaching out, but are often hindered by a lack of finance:

Evangelism in unreached villages.

We are working regularly in a number of previously unreached villages. Seydou, Pascal and Pierre make regular visits to preach the gospel in nearby villages to see the church started there. Other pastors are reaching out to villages near to where they live.

Helping new pastor-missionaries set up

We hope in the coming year to have new national pastors moving into the area to start work in new villages, as cross-cultural pastor-missionaries.

These men and their families come with no support, and have to find a way to live and provide for their families and ministry.

We aim to help them find some land and build a house, help them get a means of transport - usually a motorbike - and help them start a small business as a way of supporting themselves.

Training for lay workers.

While we look forward for trained pastors to move into the area, local Christians are beginning to preach the gospel, but need basic training in Bible and other areas:

• “H” will leave his fields and go for two years to live with a nearby pastor to learn to read and write, and to be discipled and trained.

• “Y” and his wife will go away for several months for intensive Bible study.

• “A” will study French, while working alongside his pastor to learn how to be an effective evangelist.

Prayer: Please pray for those who are engaged in the ministry to make Christ known throughout the province, that they will know the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit.
