The gospel of Christ impacts the whole of life. It not only responds to the spiritual needs of people , but also transforms the physical and social conditions of individuals and communities.
True and sustainable development is holistic, involving the physical, social, and also the spiritual. A Christian understanding places the involvement of God in every aspect of life, and a right relationship with him as the foundation of all. That is why APT works with churches to see God's blessing brought to the needy of their communities.
These are some of the areas APT is involved in, working with local Burkinabe churches, with support from partnering churches elsewhere:
Planting and Growing New Churches New churches are being started in previously unreached villages as teams take the gospel out. New Christians are being discipled, and evangelists and pastors are being trained for ministry.

Education Secondary-level students in vulnerable situations are provided with grants to help them pursue their studies in safety. We are also helping provide a Christian primary school in Gorom-Gorom.

Poverty Relief We respond to need as it arises - whether on an individual, family, or community level. We regularly provide emergency food aid when needed. In 2006, we helped re-build homes following a flood in Gorom-Gorom.

Health
We help individuals find treatment for sickness. We are planning to start a mobile dental clinic for providing relief from pain in villages far from dental care provision.

Clean Water "Water is Life!" In 2008, we drilled wells in 6 villages, providing water for needy villages on the edge of the desert. (Read more about our 2008 Well-drilling)
Camps We help run camps for local children, where children can develop and have opportunities for education, fun, and learning new skills in a safe and encouraging environment. In 2007, we ran a Children's Camp for 200 local children, and in 2009, we ran a Soccer School, to which over 100 came.

Equipping Local Pastor-Missionaries Burkinabe church workers are agents of transformation in their communities. They have moved to the area with support, and no church to help them. We help them find land, build a house, and get further training for their work. We also help set them up in small businesses so that they can support themselves in ministry.
